Today is National Waffle Day
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) - The weekend is getting off to an extra sweet start today because it's National Waffle Day.
August 24th is the anniversary of the first U.S. patent for a waffle iron. It was issued to Cornelius Swarthout in 1809.
People around the world indulge in different types of waffles. The options are endless with what you can put in them and what you can top them with.
Sadly, National Maple Syrup Day isn't until December 17th.
